Description: Skittles or nine pin of painted wood. An ancient game, skittles involves projectiles, usually balls, propelled from one end of an alley in an effort to knock down nine pins standing at the other end.
History: Skittles has many regional variations in skittle size and shape, alley length, size and shape of the balls and rules. Ninepins has been popular in North American since the 17th century, remaining so until tenpins became well-established in the late 19th century (Cooperman 2017; Skittles-Trade Games 2017).
