Context: Unit S219, E294, Feature 235, Layer M, Lot 9000. Trench feature filled with trash and brick rubble. A late 18th-19th century gravel layer intrudes somewhat on the brick rubble layer.

Tine Length: At least 1” (2.3 cm)

Leather Thickness: Unmeasurable

Description:
Barbell-like motif. Incised lines for decoration on each rounded end. The tines are unusually long, indicating it was either mounted on something much thicker than a typical strap or it acted as a “keeper” which is like a metal belt loop to hold down a loose strap end.
