German brown stoneware Bartmann bottle with applied medallion and cobalt blue painting under the glaze. The medallion bears the date 1593, the initials RRK and depicts a double-headed eagle. This vessel would have been 14 to 15” in height. Sherd discovered off of Kent Island, possibly from disturbance of a now-submerged well from the William Claiborne Site, 18QU300.
