WORKSHOPS:

PLEASE REVISIT US AGAIN FOR
FUTURE WORKSHOPS.

INTERNSHIPS:

The MAC Lab Conservation Department offers occasional internships in the treatment of archaeological materials. Interns may spend from three to twelve months performing collection surveys, condition assessments, treatment proposals, and conservation treatments. All work is done under the supervision of the Lead Conservator and Deputy Director.

Availability of internships is dependent on project or grant funding, or may be done on a volunteer basis. Position openings are usually posted to the AIC Objects Discussion Group email list, the Conservation OnLine Distribution List, through the Washington Conservation Guild, and through industry newsletters.

In the recent past, we have hosted a post-degree intern from Buffalo State College, a pre-program student who went on to study at the Institute of Archaeology at University College London, and we won a $47,000 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services that paid the salaries for two pre-program students.
