This site plan was carefully drawn by underwater archaeologists and shows part of the wreck now thought to be the Scorpion  - and how the artifacts were spread across part of the site when they were found.  This artifact distribution – or how they are spread out across the site - gives archaeologists an idea of how things are related and how they might have been used before the vessel was scuttled.

Roll over the red boxed numbers above to see an image of that artifact.

Many of these artifacts have been conserved, and are on display in either the Calvert Marine Museum or the Navy Museum at the Washington Navy Yard – you can go see them for yourself!
